Hey Everyone:
So this week I have another 1 slow cooker.... 3 meal deal!
The Recipe is for Taco Filling
1 lb. Ground Turkey/Ground Beef (Grass fed)
1 16 oz. can petite diced tomatos
1 16 oz. can tomato sauce (no salt added)
1 16 oz. can of black beans (low sodium)
1 tbsp. chili powder (depending how much spice you want)
2 tbsp. cumin
1 tbsp. garlic powder
1/2 cup diced onion
3 tbsp. brown sugar (I use the splenda blend)
Brown Turkey/Beef in frying pan. Add onions and saute.
Combine all incredients in slow cooker and turn on low for 5 to 8 hours.
Meal One: Tacos and Salad (don't forget to add the letuce, avocado, salsa, low fat cheese, fat free sour cream, etc. I like to make a little side salad with olive oil vinagrette to go with it!
Meal Two: Taco Salad (You only need about 1/3 to 1/2 cup of taco filling for this and then add with a few tortila chips. Make you own they are super easy....Use either hard taco shells and break apart and toast in the oven or use soft tortillas and toast in oven with a little pam spray. We use hard shells normally because we will buy them for the previous meal. You don't have to use the taco fillign right away - you can always freeze for later in the week.
Meal Three: Chili Mac (Feel free to make this on the first meal and freeze till ready to bake. If making for two people use 1 cup of whole wheat elbow pasta (cooked for about 5 minutes then drained) and the remaining mixture. Combine both ingredients into freezer/oven safe dish and sprinkle with fat free chedder cheese. Bake in oven when ready for about 30-40 minutes on 350 degrees.
Enjoy Everyone!

1 slow cooker and 3 nights
Nothing like making one meal and being able to use it for three nights worth of meals....
Super easy, low fat, and delicious! Here is how you do it...
Slow Cooker Meatballs and Marinara (for 2 people)
combine 1 lb. grass fed beef ( you can also use 1/2 turkey and 1/2 beef)in a medium sized bowl with 1/2 cup of old fashioned oats, 1 tbsp. garlic powder, 1 tbsp. italian seasoning, 2 tbsp. egg whites.
Divide mixture into 1.5 inch balls and place on a microwavable plate (it will yield approximatly 14 meatballs depending on size). Microwave on medium to high for approximatly 5 minutes. (don't forget to cover with wax paper or paper towel)
While in the microwave, combine in your slow cooker 2- 16 oz cans of petite diced tomatos(no salt added), 1-16 oz can of tomato sauce (no salt added), 2 tbsp. of tomato paste (to thicken the mixture), 1/2 cup of diced onion, 1 tbsp. italian seasoning, 1 tbsp. garlic powder.
Once the meatballs are finished in the microwave, individually nestle them in the sauce in the slow cooker.
Turn the slow cooker on low for 5 to 8 hours.... voila!
Here is how we do our meal plan for this recipe...
Meal 1 (the day we make meatballs): Meatball subs: We use rolls from whole foods and organic mozzarella cheese and toast them in the oven... then serve with a side salad.
Meal 2 (2 days after we make them): Whole Wheat Spaghetti with meatballs and sauce.
Meal 3 (within 1 month): After we divide up the sauce for the first two meals we put the remainder in a freezable container and use it to make a delicious pizza. The sauce will not have any meatballs left, but it will be a nice marinara.
ENJOY!
Training Tip of the Day: Core Exercises will strengthen your entire body and in the long run will help you boost your metabolism. I will teach you a new exercise in the next post from my personal trainer, Tracie!
